Season Start 2026/27

Get ready to start a new season of Badminton We have booked 2 Nights again at West Niagara Secondary School in the Large competition Gym (Red Gym). Our first night will be Monday September 28th from 7pm to 10pm.

As per usual, you will be required to fill out a membership form containing the waiver and privacy statement at the beginning of the season before you are able to play.

Membership Pricing

Here are the membership prices for the 2025-2026 season:

• Full Membership - $100 (18+)

• Youth Membership - $80 (High School and up)

• Nightly Drop-in - $10/night

* Please note, if you are planning to only play 1 night per week, it is still cheaper to purchase a membership than it is to pay nightly. Also it helps us out if we don't have to collect money all the time.

Players can pay via e-transfer to wnbirdieclub@outlook.com.

Location & Start Times

From September 2026 to May 2027, members will have the opportunity to play at the following location:

• West Niagara Secondary School (WNSS) - 5699 King St, Lincoln, ON L3J 1N5

• Mondays (7pm-10pm)

• Fridays (7pm-10pm)

* Note: Membership to the Club provides the ability to play on both days. Bookings are subject to change at the disclosure of the DSBN.

We update the website as soon as we hear information regarding cancellations from DSBN. Please check the website before coming as we wouldn't want anyone to waste a trip.

Also, thank you to the people who reported the website calendar was missing  The website uses a 3^rd party service to display the calendar and occasionally developers change their operating terms, making the calendar disappear. If you notice that the calendar is missing from the website, its not a fluke, please report this to us at wnbirdieclub@outlook.com.

Building Entry

The building is fairly easy to access. Parking is at the back of the school. Once parked, enter through the rear doors of the school and it is the gym on the left as soon as you enter.

Season Start 2024/2025

Hey Everyone,

We are happy to announce that we managed to get 2 nights at West Niagara Secondary School for our 2024/2025 season!

I know that we kept the suspense up for this long but Wednesday October 2nd will be our first night and our season will stretch all the way until Friday May 16th.

This year, it seems we have high interest coming in from the website so please let us know if you plan to join us for the full season!

Location & Bookings

This season's badminton bookings are at West Niagara Secondary School (5699 King St, Lincoln, ON L3J 1N5).

Play times are on:

• Wednesday (8pm - 10pm) in Gym L030

• Friday (7pm - 10pm) in Gym L027 (Competition Gym)

Bookings on the website will be updated as soon as dsbn notifies the club of a change. You can always check here for any cancellations.

Membership & Pricing

West Niagara Badminton Club is a social club. This means all players are entitled to equal play time and the club will not tolerate behaviour that excludes players based on skillset.

Similarly, the club is not a family event. All members must be at least in High School or older and holding courts in favour of grouping a party together is not permitted.

All members are expected to try to play with every player at least once.

• Full Season Membership - $80

• Youth Season Membership - $60 (Grade 9 through Grade 12)

• Nightly Membership - $10 / Night

If you wish to pay ahead of time, please send an etransfer to wnbirdieclub@outlook.com and please include your name and phone number in the notes of the e-transfer so we know its you.

The club will except cash, but e-transfer is preferred as it gets everyone on court faster.

Season Start & Next Steps

This year, we plan to have our signup sheet on our website. This will prevent data entry errors and hopefully get us on court faster.

We would also like to mention that this year, our permit requires all members to wear a clean pair of non-scuffing athletic shoes while on court.

We recommend getting yourself a pair of court shoes as they provide the most traction and prevent ankle related injuries.

You can buy court shoes at any sport check or sports specialty stores like Li-Ning Badminton Pro Shop.

2023-2024 Season Start!

Hey Everyone,

We hope you had a great summer 😄

Our next season of badminton is starting up again and it is about time we share some news about what has been brewing in the club over the past few months.

Location & Bookings

As you all know, the Grimsby and Beamsville High Schools are closing down and a new school was being built to accommodate the students from both schools. Unfortunately, because of this, those schools are no longer accepting community use of schools bookings on the DSBN site. In light of this, we have found another location we can play at.

This season's badminton bookings are at Smithville Public School (260 Canborough St, Smithville, ON L0R 2A0). We are happy to announce we have bookings for Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8pm - 10pm. That being said, we are monitoring the status of the West Niagara Super High School in case they start accepting bookings there once it finally opens to the community. This might yield a favorable switch sometime mid season.

Season Start & Next Steps

Last year we had some emails that were bouncing back after a news update. If your emails ends in @cogeco.ca, for some reason it is identifying some of our emails as spam. If you have another email (ex. gmail, hotmail or outlook), it may be better if you update us with that email address so you don't miss any of our updates. If not, check to see if there is a place in your email interface where you can enter wnbirdieclub@outlook.com to your safe senders list. Also, if you know someone in the club who mentions they haven't received any emails, please forward this to them and let me know they need to update us with the correct email address.

The season will officially start on Monday October 2nd at 8 pm at Smithville Public School. We will be sending a follow up email outlining some more details about pricing and bookings, after we get some membership feedback.
